The reason people end up looking frozen is almost never the product. It is placement and dosing. We treat conservatively, map to your specific muscle patterns, and leave enough movement that your face still reads as yours.

Three products, one decision we will make together
All three are FDA-approved neurotoxins and all three do the same basic job. The differences are in how quickly they kick in, how they spread, and how each person’s body responds.
Botox is the most widely used and the most predictable. If you have never had a neurotoxin before, this is usually where we start.
Dysport tends to onset slightly faster and spreads a little more, which can make it a good choice for larger areas like the forehead. It is sold in Botox-equivalent units so the comparison stays apples to apples.
Xeomin is sometimes called the “naked” neurotoxin because it contains only purified botulinum toxin type A without the accessory proteins. Some patients prefer it for that reason.
Your injector will recommend one based on your anatomy, your history with neurotoxins, and what you are treating. If one is not working the way you hoped, we can switch.
What to expect
Appointments run about 15 to 30 minutes. Your first visit takes a little longer because we spend time on assessment.
- Your injector reviews your goals and watches how your face moves
- Treatment areas are assessed and marked if needed
- Injections are placed with a very fine needle and take a few minutes
- You go back to your day immediately
Most people describe it as a quick pinch. Mild redness or small injection marks are common and typically settle within a few hours.
Aftercare
When you will see results
- First changes typically appear within 3 to 5 days
- Full effect usually lands around 10 to 14 days
- Results commonly last 3 to 4 months
We will often ask you back at two weeks for a quick check, especially on a first treatment. If something needs a small adjustment, that is the moment to do it.
Many patients find that with consistent treatment over time they need fewer units to hold the same result.
Is this right for you?
Neurotoxins suit adults who want to soften visible lines without surgery or downtime. That includes people in their twenties starting preventatively, and people in their fifties and beyond softening lines that have set in.
The main thing we look for is realistic expectations. Neurotoxins treat lines caused by movement. Lines that are there when your face is completely still may need something else, or a combination.

How many units will I need?
It depends on the area, how strong the muscle is, and how much movement you want to keep. Your injector will recommend a number at your consultation and explain the reasoning. We would rather start conservative and add than overcorrect.
How do I prepare for my appointment?
To reduce the chance of bruising, avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications or supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil and vitamin E for 24 to 48 hours beforehand, if your healthcare provider approves. Come with clean skin if you can, and tell your injector about any medications, recent treatments or medical conditions.
Can I get Botox® on a lunch break?
Yes. Most appointments run 15 to 30 minutes with no downtime, so people regularly come in between meetings.
