Volume loss is the thing most people feel before they can name it. The face looks a little tired at rest. The cheeks sit lower than they used to. The jawline softens. Makeup starts settling into places it never used to.

Hyaluronic acid fillers replace that structure. Placed well, filler is not about looking fuller. It is about restoring the support that used to be there so your face reads rested again.

Our Approach

We look at the whole face before touching any one area. Volume loss in the cheek often shows up as a fold near the mouth, so treating the fold directly can be the wrong move. Getting that judgment right is most of the job.

Where it is appropriate, we place filler using a microcannula rather than a needle. A cannula is blunt-tipped and moves through tissue rather than piercing it, which generally means less bruising, less swelling and more comfort during treatment.

We also build in stages. For a larger correction, we would usually rather do two conservative sessions than one aggressive one.

What to Expect

Most appointments run 30 to 60 minutes depending on how many areas we are treating.

You see a change immediately

Swelling, tenderness and occasional light bruising are normal for a few days. Final results settle once swelling resolves, typically within one to two weeks.

Aftercare

Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol and excessive heat for 24 hours. Sleep slightly elevated the first night if you can. Do not massage the area unless your injector tells you to.

How Long Results Last

It depends on the product, the area and your metabolism. Hyaluronic acid fillers commonly last six to twelve months, and some products in structural areas last longer. Areas that move a lot, like the lips and around the mouth, tend to metabolize faster than the cheeks or jawline.

One of the advantages of hyaluronic acid is that it can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. If you do not like a result, or your goals change, it is adjustable.

Filler is not your only option

Hyaluronic acid filler adds volume immediately. Collagen stimulators work differently: they prompt your own body to build collagen over a series of months, so the change is slower and more gradual.

Dermal Fillers FAQs

Will I look puffy or overfilled?

Not with a conservative approach. Overfilled faces are usually the result of too much product placed too superficially, or of repeated treatment without letting previous filler metabolize. We track what has been placed and where, and we are comfortable telling you to wait.

Does it hurt?

Most people find it very manageable. We use topical numbing, most fillers contain lidocaine, and the microcannula technique reduces discomfort considerably compared to a needle.

Can filler be removed?

Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. Collagen stimulators like Sculptra and RADIESSE cannot, which is one reason we are especially conservative with those.

I have had filler elsewhere and I am not happy with it. Can you help?

Often, yes. Bring what you know about what was placed and when. Depending on the situation the answer might be dissolving, adding to rebalance, or simply waiting.
